The aim of the contract
Indigo has worked with the client at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff for several years. At the start of the contract the main aim was refurbishment on the car park and working towards the overall management of the car parks used by the 9,000 students.
A time sensitive solution
Indigo worked tirelessly to the 6 week schedule provided by the clients to upgrade the entire infrastructure before the start of the new university term. The programme of work included new surfacing and over five miles of marking at each of the five sites. Installations of 22 new Pay and Display machines and dual language signs were installed to help speed up the customer's process when using the car park. Thanks to Indigos ability to provide a one-stop shop solution the project was completed on time and to budget.
A first class result
In addition to the improved car park services, Indigo now operates consistent enforcement and supervision of the five sites through its highly trained Parking Attendants. It also maintains all equipment and collects, counts and banks cash using its existing operations base at the nearby University Hospital of Wales.
The University now benefits from improved traffic flow and, just as importantly, car parks that are safer to use with all five having achieved the 'Park Mark Safer Parking Award'.
