Vinci Park UK, the specialist parking operator, is revitalising one of central London’s key car parks as the company continues to expand its presence in the capital.
The new 15 year lease signed with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea sees Vinci Park takeover the management of the 322 space Hornton Street Car Park, located off High Street Kensington.
This is the third major parking site to be managed by Vinci Park across London, following significant investment in sites at Canary Wharf and Mayfair. Vinci Park has invested significantly into refurbishing the Hornton Street Car Park, with the construction of a new parking shop and waiting area with free Wi-Fi for customers. The company has also invested in new technologies including Automatic Number Plate Recognition for regular users and debit/credit and mobile payments systems, to improve the customer experience. New LED lighting and movement sensor technology will also introduce significant lighting improvement and therefore energy savings for the underground site. The site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The car park is located within two miles of Vinci Park’s existing Mayfair site, increasing the company’s foothold in the West End. It also joins Vinci Park’s new consumer website and online booking system, providing access to the company’s London car parks in one place.
Phillip Herring,Managing Director of Vinci Park UK, comments: “London is a key growth area for us taking on the management of this car park represents a major step for the company and an excellent end to 2014”.
