Vinci Park gets off to a winning start in 2012

Winning start 2012 news

Vinci Park UK is kicking off 2012 with some major contract winds and contract extensions across the hospital, local authority and airport sectors.

Despite the tough economic conditions, the business has been able to make significant investments in infrastructure, technology and people across its sites.

In January 2012, Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust will begin a seven year contract with Vinci Park UK for provision of an integrated parking, security management and grounds maintenance service at Derriford Hospital. Building on its experience of working with 15 other Hospital Trusts, Vinci Park UK will be making a major investment at the site and working with the Trust to completely restructure the current parking arrangements throughout its estate. The contract is Vinci Park UK's third major hospital contract win in the last 18 months.

The firm has also successfully retained its on and off-street parking management contract with Kingston-upon-Hull City Council through competitive re-tender. Following a successful partnership extending over the last five years, this contract renewal will see Vinci Park UK's relationship continue for a least a further 12 months. Vinci Park UK continues to invest in the communities in which it works, especially in Hull where it works closely with local stakeholders and has funded and facilitated the development of a Young Leadership Programme for teenagers making the transition into higher education.

Another long-standing partner, Gatwick Airport, has extended its staff car park management contract Vinci Park UK for a further two years. The contract, which began in 1998, has been developed to incorporate the winter maintenance of the staff parking areas.

It is not just new contracts and extensions contributing to Vinci Park UK's winning streak. The specialist parking operator is also celebrating after winning an award for the newly opened multi-storey car park at Lister Hospital. The private parking operator triumphed in the independently judged 'transport and logistics' category at the Health Business Awards, where the car park's impressive environmental and transport/mobility hub credentials were commended.

Vinci Park UK's subsidiary Meteor Parking also starts the year with 14 new Safer Parking Awards at railway stations across the South East. The company has now been awarded a total of 82 awards across the franchise from stations in London through to the Kent Coast.

Mark Evans, Vinci Park's Chief Executive Officer, said:

"We are delighted to be starting the New Year with so much positive news. We always strive to deliver flexible, adaptable and award-winning parking solutions for our clients and our resolution for 2012 is to start as we mean to go on. In 2011 we achieved a significant amount and starting stron in 2012 sets us in good stead not only for the next year but for the next decade."
